A 100-Year Commemorative Ceremony and Lecture of the establishment of the Research Foundation Itsuu Laboratory was held.
On October 10, 2015 (Saturday), the 100-Year Commemorative Ceremony and Lecture of the establishment of the Research Foundation Itsuu Laboratory was held grandly in Hotel KSP (Kanagawa Science Park) in Mizonokuchi, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, with more than 80 professors of pharmacy and various research institutions around the country researching organic chemistry. The ceremony opened with the welcoming address of the President Dr. Isao Teshirogi, followed by the opening address made by Dr. Mitsuaki Ohtani the Director of Research Activities at the Itsuu Laboratory and Professor Kazuo Shimada, Dean of Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of The University of Tokyo, and subsequently, commemorative lectures were given by three speakers.
Lecture I: “Simplification of complex molecule construction using radical reactions”

Lecture II: “Drug discovery research on Dolutegravir, the next-generation HIV-1 integrase inhibitor”
Dr. Takashi Kawasuji, Core Disease Drug Discovery Research Institute, Shionogi & Co., Ltd.
Lecture III: “Catalytic Oxidation”
Professor Hisashi Yamamoto, Director of Molecular Catalyst Research Center, Chubu University
Besides, a tour of the newly established laboratory was held on the day of the ceremony.
